It all comes down to the final game of the Premier League season, where Arsenal face Everton at the Emirates Stadium.
Either Arsenal will be crowned champions of the league this season, or they will walk away with their heads held high after just missing out once again on winning the Premier League trophy.
The last time these two faced each other, Trossard scored the winning goal to seal a 1-0 victory at Goodison Park. The Toffees haven’t beaten the Gunners at the Emirates since April 2021, with the last two games being 4-0 and 5-1 wins for Arsenal.
Goalkeeper
The winner of the Golden Glove award, David Raya, will start in goal for Arsenal on Sunday. It could also be the last time we see Aaron Ramsdale present in the Arsenal squad, as rumours have it that he may be on the way out in the summer.
Defenders
With Jurrien Timber being fit for the past few weeks but not being selected, we could see him on the bench for the final game of the season.
Mikel Arteta hasn’t changed the back four in the last few weeks, and it is expected he won’t change it for the game against Everton.
The back four will very likely consist of Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Midfielders
Once again, Mikel Arteta has kept his lineup the same in the last few weeks, and there are expected to be no tweaks or changes for the final game of the season.
It is very likely that we will see the midfield trio of Martin Odegaard, Thomas Partey, and Declan Rice playing together.
This leaves questions surrounding the futures of Fabio Vieira and Emile Smith Rowe, and Arteta may be feeling inclined to put them up for sale to help the Gunners improve their squad.
Forwards
Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, and Leandro Trossard are all expected to start as the front three.
Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli have found it hard to impact any games in the run-in, and have subsequently fallen down the pecking order in Mikel Arteta’s selections.
Both the futures of Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson are also up in the air, with neither player getting a good number of minutes within the last couple months.
These two will most likely be put on the market and sold, but only for the right price, as they are homegrown players and have come up the ranks of the well-established Hale End Academy.
