Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot has always been tempted by the prospect of playing in the Premier League, according to Fabrizio Romano as he addressed recent Arsenal transfer rumours involving the France international.

Rabiot is heading towards the end of his contract at Juve, and one imagines he’ll be seen as an intriguing option for a number of top clubs if he does end up being available as a free agent this summer.

Still, speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his latest Daily Briefing column, Romano explained that Rabiot still hasn’t received any concrete proposals from any other clubs, and that Juventus would try to keep him at the club with a new deal.

It seems the links with Arsenal may be a tad premature, according to the transfer news expert, though he did admit that playing in the Premier League would be a tempting option for the former Paris Saint-Germain man.

Rabiot transfer latest: Premier League could be tempting, says Romano

“Staying with Arsenal, some fans have asked me about links with Adrien Rabiot, but he’s not received any proposal from Premier League clubs so far, even if playing in England has always tempted Rabiot,” Romano said.

“Let’s see if clubs will move to make a proposal, but for sure Juventus are prepared to fight to keep him at the club with a new contract proposal. Juve will offer a new deal to Rabiot and then it will be up to the player, but for now it looks too early to be talking about Arsenal or other possible destinations.”

Arsenal could perhaps do with strengthening in midfield in the near future, with Thomas Partey missing almost this entire season due to injuries, while Jorginho is not getting any younger, so may soon need replacing.

Rabiot could be a good option for the Gunners, and if they do step up their interest it seems clear they’d be a tempting option for him due to his desire to play in England.
