Another day in the transfer window, and there are more Arsenal rumours to digest.
Here’s a quick rundown of the latest links to the Gunners.
- Florian Plettenberg: A separation between Joshua Kimmich and Bayern Munich is getting closer. Now or next year at the latest. Kimmich would be ready to go into the final year of his contract. Kimmich only wants to join Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Real Madrid or Barcelona. Kimmich can leave Bayern Munich with a suitable offer. There’s no plans from Bayern about a contract extension beyond 2025
- Fabrizio Romano: “Arsenal are aware of the release clause for Nico Williams, but they are not in concrete negotiations today for Nico. They know the situation, they know the clause, the agents of the player, but Arsenal still have not decided whether they want to advance on this deal to start an operation or not.”
- Fabrizio Romano: “In the last 24, 48 hours, we had some rumours about a deal being ‘close’ being ‘very advanced’, I also saw something from Portugal that it’s ‘almost completed’, I’m told this is not true.
At the moment, Arsenal are not at the advanced stages of their negotiations for Viktor Gyökeres.”They made contact on players side already months ago, between April and May, so they’re informed of the conditions of the release clause, but also the cost of the deal in terms of salary, and all the rest.“Arsenal are informed of the situation for Viktor Gyökeres, but at the moment they still haven’t decided what they really want to do in that position and who is their priority target, they want to take their time to asses the options.
“So at the moment with Gyökeres it’s not something imminent or close, it’s an option, it’s a concrete possibility for Arsenal incase they decide to go for that kind of player. I don’t think Arsenal will go for crazy money, so has to be maybe a different structure of the deal, or Arsenal could look at different possibilities.”
- Rik Elfrink: Arsenal have inquired about PSV striker Johan Bakayoko, but according to those involved, there is certainly no offer yet to take action. Bakayoko will finish Euro 2024 first.
- Alex Crook: “I’ve been told the price tag that Arsenal expect to recoup for Eddie Nketiah is £50m, so I wonder if that might put off some potential suitors.”He’s also got a contract worth in excess of £100,000-a-week, I know Crystal Palace historically have been keen on Nketiah.
“You’ve got the likes of West Ham and Everton, Southampton all looking to bolster their striker ranks, but I just wonder if that £50m asking price might be a bit rich for some.”
MORE!
- talkSPORT: Thierry Henry is being considered by Wales for their vacant manager’s role after Rob Page’s departure, talkSPORT understands.
- Nuno Tavares: “My priority is to return to Arsenal. After that, only the future will tell. Everyone knows that I have another year left on my Arsenal contract. I have people I trust looking after my future. There have been a few approaches, but I always leave it to whoever is in charge of my future.”
